holidaydaythirteentofifteen

Time flies when you’re having fun! And as we dash towards the end of our holiday everything becomes manic as we try to squeeze in whatever last few things we can.

Thursday we dashed (again) off to Atlas Trading to purchase the spices we’re taking back to Jo’burg and then headed off in our car for a splendid tour of the Sea Point and Granger Bay areas.

At home just in time to get ready for our evening of curry with our friend so that I could have a look at the technology she uses as a professional musician to possibly incorporate the same into our band.

Jerry learnt a valuable lesson in how not to behave as there was a little girl there with the most atrocious manners who speaks rudely to her parents, doesn’t sit at the table when they eat and treats her playmates with derision and disrespect.  She is rather overindulged which, in itself, is not a bad thing but she is the epitome of a spoilt brat.

Friday saw us heading towards the Aquarium – what splendid fun that is.  You gotta wonder, though, at the folk who pay the ticket price but appear to have no interest in the fish at all, they merely get in the way of folk who are trying to look into the various tanks.

After the Aquarium we went to cousin Trevor and Mel for supper. It was a really lovely evening: good food, wonderful company, awesome music and many, MANY laughs.

On Saturday we had planned to visit my brother-in-law-in-law, his wife Sally, their little girl Becca and their sweetie-pie dog, Lisa.  Somehow or another my darling Séan (who lived in Cape Town for many years) managed to get us lost ... in Wynberg, no less and we spent nearly an hour trawling probably every street in Wynberg. Sjoe!  We finally got to their house in Cape Point after what felt like 3 hours in the car and sat down to a splendid lunch and lovely visit.  My brother-in-law-in-law Robbie kept the wine flowing but unfortunately our visit ended all too soon and we had to leave.

The evening was spent with the Maraiseses and I made a new friend.  In fact it seems that I make a lot of new friends every year at the Maraiseses.  Rolling in at 02h00, a pretty everyday occurrence when we’ve been visiting the Maraiseses, and we were all fast asleep with mixed emotions about the fact that tomorrow is our last day of holiday.   Sad to be leaving our beloved Cape Town but excited to see our furkids and family.

Happy Day!!! J
