holidaydayeightandnine

It appears that this was to be one of our chill days.  We have one or two of those on our holiday, thank heavens.

We watched telly and ate and chatted and then we chatted and ate and watched telly and kept promising ourselves that we would get up and do something.  But that just didn’t happen until much later.

Séan, Jerry and I landed up having a late lunch/early supper at the Cattle Baron in Table View.  In hindsight it was educational ‘cos I got to teach/reiterate to Jerry how one behaves when the bread is brought at “fancy” restaurants.

On the way home Jerry promised me a game of Monopoly but **sigh**, this was not meant to be.  Chris had been busy searching for a trial version of pc chess for me and in the process ended up with all manner of other things too which meant that the evening was passed with Jerry usurping Chris’ pc and playing exciting games.

Sunday saw a chilled morning and then we all headed off to watch Chris work.  He is a professional musician and works, with a band, at the Lookout Deck in Houtbay every Sunday arvie.

Michelle came through too which was nice – we’d only seen her once on Christmas day since we’d arrived and hadn’t had much chance to catch up.  Here’s a pic of Michelle and Jerry: two beautiful sisters. J

We also saw some friends that we hadn’t seen for many years and who had moved to Cape Town some three years back ...... lucky buggers!  The friends themselves hadn’t changed one bit but their children had become lovely grown up teenagers which, of course, if proof of my belief that people don’t get older – it’s just their children who do.  **grin**

The lead guitarist from our band and his wife are also on holiday in Cape Town and popped in – our table consisted of 12 people! Lovely!

We had popped outside to try and find the source of a wad of black smoke that had wafted across the harbour.  The fire was too far away to see but we were entertained by a posing seal in the water.  She had a baby too, who was rather shy, but she herself posed and posed allowing us all to take lots of pics.

After the band was finished and everyone else had left we waited for Chris to pack up his guitar - he's going back for a New Years gig there.

After a splendid afternoon and evening of good music and entertainment we headed home guided by a gorgeous moon.

Happy Day!!! J
